Celestial Red

Congratulations to Autralia's Nobel Prize winner for Physics, Brian Schmidt awarded for discovering that the universe is expanding at an accelerating rate.

 This amazing photo was taken by the Hubble telescope.  It is a photo of Galaxy M51, otherwise known as the Whirlpool Galaxy, you can see why. 
The photo captures the galaxy in near infra red light, eliminating the star light and and revealing the dust particles and its structure.
